Natsume Yuujinchou Go: Episode 6

vlcsnap-2016-11-09-11h09m53s496

It’s just any other day in Natsume’s life which means running away from the ayakashis. Without sensei he gets caught and his voice is taken away. A bird ayakashi saves him thinking its Reiko.

The bird ayakashi is so cute and it looks like its wearing a scarf. With Natsume losing his voice and the ayakashi not being able to understand what Natsume’s writing he’s stuck in the abandoned valley. The sweet ayakashi tries to cheer him up.

Finally sensei arrives in his majestic form and takes Natsume with him. His adoptive parents think he got a cold and lost his voice and care for him. Wait I have something in my eye…tears.

Bird ayakashi comes back to get its name. Since Reiko has gone the ayakashi has lost the purpose in staying that abandoned valley because it’s waiting for her. The evil yokais strike back on Natsume to get the yuujinchou and sensei scares them off and Natsume gets his voice back.

Natsume gives the name back to the bird yokai and sees Reiko in the yokais memory. She played with the yokai and wanted to live in a lively place too and as usual she’s smiling. The bird yokai is happy she got to see at least Reiko’s grandson.

Natsume joins back his family and sensei goes for a drink.

Natsume returned the name for the first time in this season but he didn’t faint. Sensei can do anything for sake even if it means to force Natsume to sleep naked. I love this anime. I hope Natsume finds a way so he doesn’t feel burdened by the yuujinchou.

It’s been awhile since we’ve had a standard yokai come for their names or to steal the book episode. I really enjoyed this return to formula and the interactions between Natsume and Nyanko this episode. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

you’re welcome and thank you for always being here ^___^
yes, it brought back memories. I love how Nyanko used to throw tantrums whenever a yokai came to get a name because the book would get thin then he would make himself happy thinking humans don’t live longer and forgetting Reiko gathered the names in her life time so Takashi can give the names in his lifetime as well. true, no guarantee how longer he would live. i don’t think Nyanko would take the book after Takashi dies because by that time he would have gotten much closer to him so he will protect the book for future descendants and ask them to return the name like Takashi did. I have some imagination ahaha

I think that would be the best outcome long term if the book continued with the Natsume family with Nyanko guarding them. Of course, that’s a long way off even if that is how they would choose to end it.

its definitely better than some random open end. and I don’t want the anime to end it should just continue and i’m sure none one of us will get bored of the story even if it remained the same.

True, though I often wonder what would happen when Natsume finished high school whether he would stay in the village with his ‘friends’ or would he go away to university or work.

we never learned what happened to Reiko or who her husband was or why did she had this ability. i don’t remember anything about Takashi’s mother being able to see yokai. does this ability skips a generation?
Takashi most probably will go after higher studies. the yokai coming to meet him often. he’ll get married to someone like him or will hide his ability as not to trouble anyone and as time passes he’ll stop seeing yokais and will forget about the yuujinchou. the book will be kept safe by Madara. this sounds so depressing and sad.
